It’s not easy to explain … how great art reveals our collective human experience. It can portray hopes fears, beauty, sexuality and everything else that makes us human.
It’s not easy to explain … that nudity as art can transcend and include sexuality. While there’s no denying that many images at Model Society are “sexy”, they also illuminate and respect the humanity of the models.
Beyond just “sexy”, Model Society celebrates the full range of humanity. We welcome a diversity of shapes, sizes and colors. We embrace the entire spectrum of the human experience.
Editor and cover artist of our 2nd magazine issue: Joel Belmont
Joel Belmont has spent over 20 years pushing the boundaries of the photographic medium. The themes in his work pursue spiritual narratives – contrasting what’s perceived with the five senses, against the unseen metaphysical realities of life that lay beneath the surface. As spiritual qualities are not something one can observe with the eye, his work employs visual metaphor and symbolism to hint at underlying truths and questions of the human condition, with the possibility of transcending it.
